At present a large oil painting is in the works which at one time included numerous figures entangled in a wave of humanity's triumphs and tragedies. In this process, sketches were drawn and some I have found to have a life of their own. "Within Skin and Stone" came from one such sketch. Along with other drawings such as "Samsara" (also considered for inclusion) I needed to fully realize it in pencil. Not only that, but considering the time I will spend finishing this latest painting, I needed to create some completed works along the way. The title "Within Skin and Stone" is simply what came to mind when I studied this particular pose. The embryonic figure gives the impression of being still as stone. Yet within... there is life. And to a greater extent, even in stone itself there is life energy. Some call it Love, the ethereal energy or silent music which keeps the universal dance and our planet in motion. Petrus

Using the highest quality inks for reproducing true black and white images Edition I is printed on heavy weight 425g acid free 100% cotton rag. Edition I is also highly limited in the number of reproductions with a maximum of 100 signed and numbered prints produced. Within Skin and Stone ~ Limited Edition II † with equivalent print and stock quality as the premium edition, finds it's distinctions only in size and quantity. Printed at 84% of the original pencil drawing, this cost alternative edition will be held to a total of 500 reproductions. Edition II, as with all print editions by Art Unseen, is proofed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the Artist.
