~ Dedicated to those who bring us in focus with Nature ~ As the human tide turns in upon Nature a benign and compassionate being not of this Earth holds a fragile web. Whether one believes in beings from distant stars or not, the significance of the Alien at the center of "Mandala" goes beyond this endless cosmic debate. I've heard it said, if there is no intelligent life within the Universe but for what passes as "intelligent" life here on Earth, then the Universe would seem to be "an awful waste of space". Not only that, but if we in our intellectual arrogance want to hold on to that notion of sole custodianship with regard to the Universe then trouble lies ahead. One need only look beyond the headlines of the hour to see the truth. By our actions here on Earth we shall be judged and by none other than (if there is still fresh water for them to drink), our children's children. Perhaps what is required in order to change the course of human history is not more intelligence, bigger brains and larger computers but the imagination and wisdom to operate them effectively. Imag-i-nation is the place where the Guardian Alien emerged. It exists in my head and in my heart and looking through it's eyes requires the use of imagination. Imagine coming to this world from a far off distant place seeing it all for the fist time in a fully conscious instant of uninhibited recognition. What would one see and how would one view this Earth without the gradual acquisition of selective knowledge through an ever increasing discriminative media driven upbringing? An unprejudiced perspective could only see the wonder of it all and the intertwined diversity which is required to sustain the delicate balance. At times it seems to me that we in our search for intellectual understanding get so involved with the genetic makeup of pigment that the painting created is overlooked and lost in the details. "... the forest for the trees...", would seem an old adage kicked around since the dawn of man but in today's changing climate it still rings true. Without the flexibility to stretch our range of vision to include not only the ant's point of view but also the eagle's (who's eye for detail is not diminished by it's wider perspective) what will become of the Earth with which we all have a hand in creating. And if what one does upstream effects another down how will our creation ripple throughout the Universe. Petrus
Boots Print Info: Mandala Detail II ~ Remarque Edition I † is unique not only for the hand drawn image which extends into the border but also for the extremely low quantity of prints produced. With the border image of a dolphin penciled by the Artist, the limit for this edition is set to 27 in total. Both limited and remarque editions of Detail II, as with all reproductions by Art Unseen, are printed on the highest quality acid free rag stock, proofed by the Artist and include a signed certificate of authenticity. Mandala Detail II ~ Limited Edition II † features the bottom left corner of the original pencil drawing Mandala, focusing on the female figure holding the earth in delicate balance. Unlike the full version Mandala Open Edition print (which has been reduced in size from the original drawing) Detail II is printed to the scale of the original. This edition, as with the remarque edition, includes the Mandala name plate vine graphic within the printed border. Purchase: To order this print click on the respective Add to Cart button.
